United States — Cyber Threat Profile

China's Salt Typhoon campaign has targeted more than 200 U.S. companies within a global espionage operation spanning at least 80 countries, according to an August 2025 joint advisory from CISA, the NSA, FBI, and allied agencies including the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy, and Japan. Intrusions date to at least 2019 and span telecommunications, government, transportation, lodging, and military networks. In March 2026 the Trump administration released its Cyber Strategy for America, a six-pillar framework covering adversary deterrence, regulatory streamlining, federal network modernization, critical-infrastructure security, emerging-technology superiority, and workforce development, calling for defensive and offensive cyber operations and streamlined regulations that reduce compliance burdens.
