Ethics is an extortion crew whose Tor-based data-leak site surfaced on trackers in August 2026, when Ransomware.live recorded an opening batch of at least three claimed victims on 12 August 2026: German manufacturer BerlinerLuft. Technology GmbH, US law firm Holstrom, Block & Parke, and insurer Philadelphia Insurance Companies — a spread across the technology, professional services and financial services sectors. WatchGuard's ransomware tracker classifies the operation as an emerging data-broker outfit that leans on direct extortion, double extortion and free data leaks. Dark-web monitoring firm DeXpose reported the Philadelphia Insurance listing, noting the group warned that data would be leaked if no communication was established; none of the crew's claims has been independently verified.
