Venezuela's cyber environment is shaped by acute political crisis and US geopolitical conflict. In April 2025, US Cyber Command conducted offensive cyberattacks blacking out power in Caracas during military operations to capture Nicolas Maduro, marking one of the most publicly acknowledged offensive cyber operations in recent history. Following July 2024 presidential elections, Anonymous launched DDoS attacks against over 45 government websites.
