Tunisia — Cyber Threat Profile

Tunisia overhauled its national cybersecurity architecture in September 2023, replacing ANSI with the new National Cybersecurity Agency (ANCS), which now holds a strengthened mandate covering cloud provider certification, device labeling, and CII resilience requirements. Online fraud rose 31% between 2023 and 2024, and Tunisia ranked among Africa's top 20 countries hit by ransomware, with 1,232 recorded cases in 2024. The National Cyberspace Strategy 2020 to 2025 is due for renewal. Finance, telecommunications, and government are the most targeted sectors. ANCS signed bilateral cybersecurity cooperation agreements with Italy and the UAE in late 2023.
