Sudan's cyber environment has collapsed alongside its civil war. Ongoing conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces has physically destroyed telecommunications infrastructure, causing repeated deliberate internet blackouts that exacerbate the humanitarian crisis and prevent documentation of atrocities. Both factions conduct disinformation operations online, and external actors including UAE and Israeli-linked networks have been identified running influence campaigns on social media.
