Ghana — Cyber Threat Profile
Ghana is the second most significant source of cybercrime in Africa after Nigeria, ranking 13th worldwide on the World Cybercrime Index 2024. Its Cyber Security Authority, established by the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038), regulates the sector and licenses cybersecurity service providers, and operates CERT-GH, the national point of contact formed by the Ministry of Communications in 2014. Privacy is supervised separately by the Data Protection Commission, an independent statutory body under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
