Cameroon — Cyber Threat Profile

Cameroon's national CIRT, run by the ANTIC agency, received a FCFA 735 million upgrade in January 2026, World Bank-funded, adding intrusion detection and investigation tooling to protect critical infrastructure. ANTIC logged 32,500 judicial cybercrime requisitions in 2025, a 30 percent rise over 2024, alongside 8,502 system vulnerabilities and 8,499 fake official accounts identified since January 2024. Personal Data Protection Law No. 2024/017, enacted in December 2024, imposes immediate breach-notification duties ahead of a 23 June 2026 compliance deadline. Ransomware groups have repeatedly hit Cameroonian organizations: worldleaks listed ASCOMA Cameroon in May 2025 over a March 2025 intrusion, and Everest claimed CCA Bank in August 2026.
